Paramore - Still Into You
Sound
The sound in this music video is quite up beat as it is a power pop song, it features 1 singers and two of the band mates. The sound is very up beat and exciting for most viewers, this song is being sung by a woman and the lyrics are based around love and being with someone and of course still being into the after a long time. This appeals to a stereotypical teenage girl as it is seen they like romantic things which this song is about.
Mise-En-Scene
Opening Scene (Picture 1)
This is the opening Shot of the music video there is a slow track up from the frame being filled tightly with balloons before we reach this steady track towards the artists. This is good as it shows who the artists are and the audience will know straight away that these are the artists. The singer is central as she lip syncs during the music video so she is the main focus.
"Years" Lyric reflected through Birthday cakes (Picture 2)
This scene is also another good scene as it reflects the lyrics and the meaning of the song, as this part the Lyrics are sun "Cant count the years on one hand that we've been together". Being surrounded by birthday cakes reflects upon the years that they have been together and there being a lot of cakes means obviously that it has been a long time.
Cinematography
At the beginning of the music video shown in Picture 1, the frame starts off filled tightly with blue and white balloons trying to symbolize water, the camera then tracks up and forward towards the artists, the singer being central, so that the audience can see who they are closely.
Gif Showing the movements of the camera and shot types (picture 3)
There are a lot of camera movements which reflects the upbeat and quite fast paced feel of the song. There are a lot of tracks left and right which match the pace of the song. The shots are also consistently wide shots or close ups of the artists. This is done to show either shots that include all of the artists to show their friendliness and that they are all friends together sharing one shot, then the close ups show the song to be more personal to the singer than the other two artists.
Editing
The editing in the music video is quite fast paced but also changes during the music video reflected when there are time signature changes within the music video. The speed is used to reflect the mood of the song which is very happy and upbeat which makes the editing fast to make the video seem very happy and upbeat and fun. It also gives the sense that the artists are having fun singing the song and having fun together which will make the audience feel happy as it influences them to feel better with the use of an upbeat and relatively fast song combined with the fast paced editing.
