Bullet for my Valentine - Tears Don't Fall
Sound
The sound in this again is quite conventional to the genre. The sound is all bout the song and the band playing the song against a silent narrative. The sound is diegetic at points but non diegetic when the narrative is playing it is only diegetic when the band is seen playing the song. This can been seen in the tube chop below.
Cinematography
The cinematography for this music video is quite erratic as during the silent narrative the camera movements are quite normal and are kept steady like they would be in a film. When there are shots of the band and the music is quite heavy with some screaming then the camera is shaking violently giving off the impression that the song is a violent song. There is also a blue filter used without the whole of the band shots and the narrative. This gives the video a cold feel to it making it seem very dark and emo. This can be seen in the tubechop below.
Mise-En-Scene
The mise-en-scene for the piece is very dark and Gothic. There is a use of dark leathery clothing giving off a gruff and mean type of look making the band seem tough and of the violent sort. This attracts an emo/gothic type of audience to the video. There is also quite a Rustic feeling to the video of things being old and worn out. During the scenes with the band there is heavy rainfall on them which could relate to one of the lyrics and the name of the song of "Tears don't fall" which is juxtaposed in these scenes as the rain is falling. This can be seen in the tubechop below.
Editing
The editing for the music video is quite conventional as it sticks to the beat of the song but also changes its pace as the song does but there are a few moments where it cuts quite fast and is a bit faster than the song is going. There is constant cross cutting between the narrative and the band performing the song. This gives more of a meaning towards the lyrics of the song through imagery of the narrative.
