Low Budget Ideas

A-Ha! - Imogen Heap

Mise-En-Scene

In this music video the lighting is quite dark, this gives off a dark feel for the music video and attracts a teenager "Emo" style of audience. This is also achieved with the use of blood and gungy type images shown in the music video. The presentation of the mise-en-scene is very good as it helps the video in being successful in a conventional way as well as attracting the right audience. This is what i will try to do with my music video so i can entertain the right audience that like this music.

Cinematography

The cinematography for the music video is quite conventional with there being quite a lot of close ups and mid shots of the artist and shots which relate into the lyrics of the song. I feel i can create something that is more creative than this as i think that the cinematography lacks movements and a variety of camera angles and shot types.

Editing

The editing is relatively fast paced as is any music video with a faster tempo song to accompany it. I choose to follow the beat of my song and try to cut on beat so that people find it easier to get into the feel of the music video like this music video does, i will use quite fast paced editing.

Sound

The sound in the video is all non-diegetic sound which is good as we can clearly hear the artist singing which is probably the main reason why someone would watch the video for the song and a further understanding of the lyrics and the possible story being sung in the lyrics of the song. With my genre i will possibly use a mixture of diegetic and non-diegetic sounds so i have a small narrative to my music video as well as the song being played and performed by the band.
